Cinco de Mayo: Island Style

I didn’t choose the island life, it chose me, or rather Uncle Sam chose it for me and I’m not upset about it. EVER. This year for Cinco de Mayo, I decided to use a little island inspiration and craft a unique version of this classic cocktail. This is the part where I could tell a completely unrelated story but I’ll save your fingers the scrolling, they’ve been working overtime as is. All ingredient are linked below! Happy Margaheeeeeeta making!

A few notes on the recipe: Any tequila will do. Cream of Coconut or Coco Lopez are found in the ethnic aisles of your grocery store. At first I made this with fresh ground ginger and it was really good too. It adds the perfect amount of spice. Just don’t add too much because it can overwhelm the delicate coconut flavors quickly. Oh, and I found the ginger water at Whole Foods in the bbq + hot sauce section.
