Small Businesses that are Crushing It

Please forgive me as this is a departure from my normal posts, but I’ve been noticing and trying to support small businesses that are absolutely killing it right now. I’m not talking about their bottom lines, I’m talking about going out of their way to help people. They’re taking money from their sales and supporting people and causes who deserve our attention and it makes my heart full. So without further ado, I present to you 6 small businesses that are doing rad things for the world right now:

Mohala Eyewear
Mohala is an Oahu based company who specializes in eyewear for every face shape. A portion of all of their proceeds go to the @Roomtoread initiative. Each sale of glasses sends a girl to school, amazing! Additionally, their glasses are exceptional quality and wait until you see their sunglass cases.

Kynd Community Store
A stunning little cafe in Bali just released an amazing plant-based cookbook and 100% of the funds go to providing essentials to the people of Bali. If you’ve been lucky enough to visit Bali, you’ll know that sweet little island absolutely runs on the tourism industry. The book looks amazing, and the conversion rate makes it a no-brainer.

Know Headphones
This brand is a recent find. They make sleek, minimalist styled headphones and portion of the proceeds from every sale go towards supporting American public school via the DonorsChoose.org initiative.

Wear Wyse
I found Wear Wyse through IG and its the first 100% sustainable bikini brand that I fell in love with. All of the bikinis are made from ocean waste. Living on an island and witnessing everyday how much trash washes up on the beaches has really given me a great respect for companies who go out of their way to eliminate trash from our oceans.

Stojo
Stojo is a beloved brand to me because their product is so useful (and reliable). They spent the whole month of April donating a Stojo cup to healthcare workers for each cup sold. They saved over 80,000 plastic cups from going to waste.

Trident Coffee
Trident has a buy-a-bag give-a-bag initiative and they’ve been keeping their local health care workers and first responders caffeinated through this crisis. I think we can all agree they have more than earned it!

Drop any small businesses in the comments below that you think deserve recognition, I would love to get to know them and their mission!

Stay healthy out their friends. We’ll get through this thing soon!
