St. Regis Bali: Hotel Review

Hanging ivy entrance at St. Regis Bali

Luxury travelers heading to Bali, look no further than the St. Regis Bali!

Let me first say, I’ve stayed at dozens of luxury hotels but never a St. Regis and I’m disappointed I waited so long. From the moment we pulled up to the picturesque entrance of hanging ivy and cool blue lights, I knew we were in for a treat. We arrived during the wee hours of the morning and the staff met us at the car with a cool towel, promptly took our bags and escorted us to have a seat while our accommodations were taken care of. We were served a refreshing cooler and escorted to our room. The lobby felt whimsical and airy and smelled of fresh flowers. And this was just the beginning.

The St. Regis certainly doesn’t skip on the luxurious amenities. Some of my favorite include:

  • Incredible breakfast spread included in room price
  • 24-hour butler service
  • 24-hour fresh coffee & tea service delivered to your room
  • 2 garments per person pressed daily
  • Complimentary in-room water and exotic fruit plate
  • Daily housekeeping and turn down service
  • Complimentary high-speed internet all over the resort grounds

Food

We dined at every restaurant and they were all lovely in their own way. If you’re looking for a unique Indonesian dining experience, I highly recommend Dulang. You will definitely want to make reservations and put bug repellant on before you dine. The whimsical outdoor dining experience takes place in a colonial style structure surrounded by a lush garden on all sides. (Hint: the need for bug spray) and includes 2 cultural dancing displays, a multi-course meal and an incredible pot of Luwak coffee brewed right in front of you over an open flame.

Happenings

Don’t miss the traditional fire dance that happens every night at the base of the stairs

And don’t forget to use the concierge to book an excursion or two. We hiked Mount Batur and took advantage of hiring a private driver to take us to and around Ubud. You can ready about our experience here.

Service

The best service I have ever received at a hotel, period. Personalized service at every turn. Every service member knew our names, wished us a great day and the gentlemen in the lobby playing the Gamelan gave me a flower every morning on our walk to breakfast.

Overall

The St. Regis Bali was as idyllic as could be. I’m so grateful we chose this resort for our first trip to Bali and I recommend it to anyone who’s heading that direction.

All opinions are my own.
